No trip to the midlands is complete without a trip to the award winning Derryglad Folk Museum. Situated in a rural setting in the heart of South Roscommon. Here you can view over 5000 items dealing with History, Heritage and Folk Culture. This all weather facility deals with Farm and Folk Life and includes Horse drawn machinery, Tradesman's tools, Old style 1930s thatched bar and Grocery, phonographs, gramophones, radios, quern stones, rare bog butter, sun dials rush lights, new display on old days, Old ways at school, slates, slate pencils, Dip pens, ink and blotting paper.

In the Photographic room view items old and rare memorabilia from bygone days also political portrait photographs, wedding photographs. ETC. The
Museum is an ideal visit for all ages, for the young its a great benefit to them in their understanding of our History, heritage and folk culture. For the older folk it's a nostalgic peep into the past.
