Ballyleague/ Lanesborough This two in one village straddling the River Shannon is strategically positioned at the northern end of Lough Ree. The area is renowned for it's fishing.
Glasson Originally an estate village, the poet Goldsmith's pretty Village of the Roses, is on the shores of Lough Ree, north of Athlone. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with outstandingwaterside accomodationand dining available, it's the perfect spot for a short break or longer holiday.
Lecarrow On the western shore of Lough Ree, this County Roscommon village north-west of Athlone has a totally sheltered harbour basin, connected to Lough Ree by a short canal.

Mullingar The County Town for Westmeath, now a thriving commercial centre, was originally a market townwith many buildings dating back to the 18th & 19th centuries.
