Nenagh Town
Nenagh Town is one of the main towns in
County Tipperary and is surrounded by
beautiful small towns such as Dromineer and
Garrykennedy on the eastern shores of Lough
Derg. Dromineer Bay, the Nenagh River and
the lake offer many fishing possibilities for the
angler willing to do a bit of exploration. The
Heritage Centre is located in two buildings of North Tipperary's former
County Gaol (prison), which date to the 1840s. Theatre, arts, music,
song, dance and tracing your ancestry are provided in the Centre. There
is a wonderful selection of exquisite boutiques, restaurants, popular pubs
& nightlife, leisure facilities and a cinema. Friday is market day in Nenagh
and from 11 am you will find this a good place to buy home-made and
home-grown produce and lots more. Nenagh Castle, the Franciscan
Abbey and a Walk in the nearby Arra and Silvermine Mountains are also
worth a visit when on an ‘escape' break.
