hour from Dublin suburbs. The old jail in
Portlaoise town centre has been restored to
create a multipurpose arts centre, which regularly hosts a variety of

restaurants, cafes, shops, sporting facilities and a five-screen cinema.
There are numerous live music venues and when it comes to nightclubs
there is a lively scene locally. Hinds Square is an attractive retail centre
