Meadowsweet Apiaries
Welcome to a world of honey, where varieties, taste and colour rival
those of wines. Andrew is the third generation of beekeepers in the
McGuinness family. Today Meadowsweet Apiaries has hives scattered in
a 20-mile radius of the family farm in Co Offaly. Andrew McGuinness has
become the most celebrated honey maker in Ireland over the last
couple of years. The Summer Blossom Honey has a flavour that's mild
and delicate and has a distinctive honeyness about it. Andrew also
produces a heather honey from hives in the Clara Bog, which is dark
and viscous. He takes pride in bottling nature, not changing it.
Meadowsweet's honey tastes so delicious because it's kept as close to
its natural state as possible. Life doesn't get much sweeter than this!
