Ollie Hayes Bar, Moneygall
Ollie Hayes bar is located in the heart of Moneygall the ancestral home of United States President Barack Obama. Enjoy a pint of “Barack” or a glass of “Michelle” we have renamed our Guinness in these parts. We encourage all our visitors to sign our guest book and join the thousands of others who have already done so. People from as far away as the Australian Gold Coast and Obama’s homeland of the USA have signed the book.
A little History…
Steeped in history, OLLIE HAYES bar is in the Hayes Name since the early 1930s when it was purchased by Ollie’s Grandparents who at that time had the Hayes bar directly across the road which is still is in the Hayes name today, run by Ollie’s Aunt Julia and Uncle Joe.

As you can imagine, a visit to Ollie Hayes Bar Moneygall is a unique experience since the visit on May 23rd 2011 by United States President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama which will be enjoyed by all and is guaranteed to provide fond memories. We look forward to welcoming you soon. See where the President and his wife enjoyed a pint of Guinness and have your photo taken with our world famous bust of the President, also add your signature to our guest book, view the famous glasses that the president and his wife drank from.
A Moneygall Welcome
President Barack Obama got back in touch with his Irish ancestry in Moneygall. The President and First Lady Michelle Obama were greeted by crowds lining the Main Street. They shook hands with locals before visiting the ancestral home of his great, great, great-grandfather, Falmouth Kearney.
Enjoying Local Hospitality
Local hospitality continued as the President headed Ollie Hayes’ Bar. He chatted to locals, saying ‘Sláinte’ as he enjoyed a pint of Guinness. President Obama revealed he first tasted the drink on a stopover at Shannon Airport.
