1.Birr Castle Demesne.
Visit to Birr Castle Demesne, Birr, Co. Offaly. Birr Castle Demesne is home to Ireland's historic Science Centre, where students can visit the interactive museum galleries, which reveal achievements in astronmy, photography, engineering and botany. There is also a special emphasis on the brilliant design and assemly of the Great Telescope.
2. River Queen - Silverline Cruisers, Banagher, Co. Offaly.
Take a trip from Shannonbridge up the Shannon to visit and view the famous ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise by the river Shannon. St. Ciaran founded the Monastry in 545 AD. This site is entered through the visitor centre. The centerpiece of the interpretative centre is the ninth century cross of the scriptures. Lunch will be included in the package on your return to Shannonbridge.
3. Lough Boora Parklands, Boora, Co. Offaly.
The Boora bog complex in Co. Offaly provide parkland walks which consist of 3 main walks. These are the Farmlands walk, Mesolithic walk and the Sculpture walk. An International Sculpture Symposium was organised by Bord na Mona and local artists for Lough Boora. There are now 15 outdorr sculptures on display permenantly.
