Dress up in 19th Century costumes and relive the life of the Merchants of Tullamore! Watch as our live bee colony works at making honey. Through our interactive displays and videos you can experience the historic tales of Tullamore and surroundings. Specialised talks and other fun activities such as face painting can be arranged on request.
Description of tour/ itinerary
The TDHC is housed in the original 1897 bonded warehouse; the visit starts with a film, followed by the guided tour through the various recreated working stations where students can learn about the work that used to take place in the distillery by interacting with the artefacts. The tour continues and relates the story of the development of Tullmore. The journey starts 9000 years ago with the formation of the bog up to the present day.

Educational programme available with our education officer on site guided tour 1 ½ hours heritage trail with personalised certificate of accomplishment.
Variable – 2-½ hrs workshop: organised on a chosen local topic (basket weaving/ bee keeping/ cooperage) or educational CD-rom on history in the Midlands.
